Driving Lessons Driving Tests and Theory Tests Update

Car practical driving lessons, driving tests and theory tests have been cancelled across England since the 2nd national lockdown started from 5th November 2020.

As per Government guidelines, second lockdown will end on 2nd December 2020. It had been unclear if the driving schools and pupils can resume driving lessons on 2 December 2020. Also, candidates who had their car tests booked on 2nd December will go ahead or not.

DVSA had previously announced that all tests in England will be cancelled from November 5 until 2nd December 2020 in line with Government’s COVID-19 guidelines.

Latest update from the DVSA about theory and practical tests clarify that all theory and practical driving tests will restart from 3 December 2020. Candidates who had their tests booked on 2 December will receive an email with a rescheduled test date and time.

Candidates would be able to change their test time and date if they are happy with a new test time or date. The driver and vehicle standards agency is keeping the situation under review in line with the Government guidelines.

aDriving school will resume driving lessons from 3 December 2020. Customers can reserve their first driving lesson in advance to avoid the waiting time.
