Following the DVSA most recent announcement with regards to DVSA staff and managers who are acting as car examiners full-time. People are curious about the present test waiting time.

The media, driving instructors, learners and parents are asking DVSA for the current car test waiting time.

DVSA believes that people probably have different approaches and understanding about it.

The present national average test waiting time is around 18.8 weeks as of 16th October 2023.

But this does not mean that every candidate in the United Kingdom will have to wait 18.8 weeks between booking the test and taking the driving test.

Here one of the driving schools in Wellingborough would like to highlight that each driving test centre has its own waiting time.

Have a look at the below example provided by DVSA

If the driving test centre has 175 driving tests available every week. The test waiting time is the 1st week when eighteen or more test appointments will still be available for the candidates to book.
